This week, Lydia Patterson Institute students had the incredible opportunity to attend the 38th Annual Texas Legislative Event hosted by Texas United Women in Faith in partnership with Texas Impact. Held in Austin, the event brought together women of faith from across Texas who are committed to justice, freedom, and opportunity for all, with a particular focus on issues impacting women and children.

Our students participated in two days of powerful workshops, inspirational speakers, and thought-provoking discussions that deepened their understanding of key legislative issues affecting communities across Texas. They also had the unique opportunity to connect with other advocates and gain practical tools to put their values into action.

The highlight of the experience was the third day, when our students visited the Texas State Capitol to meet with lawmakers. They engaged in meaningful conversations with Senator César Blanco and the staff of Representative Vincent Perez, voicing their concerns and advocating for issues they care about most.

This trip not only provided our students with valuable insight into the legislative process but also empowered them to use their voices to make a difference. We are proud of their commitment to justice and their dedication to creating positive change in our communities.

LPI is grateful to Texas United Women in Faith and Texas Impact for organizing this transformative event and inspiring the next generation of leaders to act boldly in their faith and advocacy.Senator Cesar Blancostaff House Replooking upat House Rep office
